Catherine and Daniel’s wedding at the Washington Duke was a beautiful and elegant affair. From the time we met Catherine and Daniel, we also knew that they were destined for one another. We greatly enjoyed their calmness on the big day and couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful and well matched they both were for one another.
Catherine and Daniel shared a traditional Viennese Waltz for their first dance, quite the impressive feat since Daniel was recovering from a recent surgery. They danced the night away ending with a balloon exit with their guests, and in a private moment together as well.
Leila and Adam’s stunning Persian wedding was a blend of Persian and Christian cultures with the incredible Washington Duke as their backdrop for the day. We love doing weddings of all types but we always have a special place in our heart for weddings which incorporate other cultures and backgrounds.
In the creative short film you will notice both a traditional western/Christian ceremony as well as elements of the Persian wedding ceremony in the film. You might also notice an unfamiliar (to many Americans) tradition of the Knife Dance.
About the Washington Duke Inn
Durham’s Washington Duke Inn is one of the most elegant and popular inns in North Carolina. Despite its close proximity to some of the busiest parts of the area, with 30 acres of peaceful green scenery and surrounded by tall pines, it’s separated from the rest of the world, offering a one of a kind treat to those in its midst’s. It offers a blend of activities, from the gym to the golf course, so that all guests, whether there on business, pleasure, or looking forward to that perfect wedding day, have the feeling of a vacation with ample opportunities to relax and take a breather from the demands of everyday life.
The Washington Duke Inn offers three unique venues for couples to choose from when planning their wedding. Their outdoor venue, the Presidential Terrance is ideal for ceremonies while the indoor venues, both the Presidents Ballroom and the Ambassadors Ballroom, offer large spaces perfect for a cocktail reception and plated events. For those who prefer outdoor events, they work to ensure that, in case of weather conditions, the perfect wedding can still be had with a backup indoor venue with no effort on the bride and groom’s part.
The inn also offers the use of their specialized wedding planners to help plan that special day to leave the couple with minimal stress over the planning while still ensuring their desires are met. Their planners put everything they have during the planning stage and give their couples their complete attention and presence on their wedding day. From coordinating with the vendors selected to accommodating out of town guests, they strive to create that perfect day for everyone involved so that the couple can rest easy knowing that everything is in good hands throughout their engagement and wedding day.
The Washington Duke Inn prides itself on being a full service hotel. With the contract of a reception package, the hotel sees to it that nearly everything is provided for these couples with rental options available for the things that aren’t. This includes tastings before the wedding day, overnight accommodations for the wedding night, a wide selection of chairs and linen, and the choice of three serving options for the reception. To top it off, they want every guest to feel welcome and offer custom children’s menus to fit any wedding and style preferences. With such services, there’s no doubt that the Washington Duke Inn is a stress-free and all-inclusive way to plan the perfect wedding day.
